Primary Water Polo allows primary school aged children the chance to play a modified version of water polo, primarily within the shallow end of the pool. It is designed to help children develop swimming and ball-handling skills, while learning to work with others as part of a team. A typical session will start with activities designed to develop fitness and skills and conclude with a game where children can put what they have learned into practice.

For the 2023-24 season, Primary Water Polo will be offered:

  • Monday nights 4:30-5:30pm at Rockhampton Grammar School Pool (Archer St), starting October 9 and running for 7 weeks (Term 4), with Term 1 dates to be announced.
  • Thursday nights, 4:30-5:30pm at Northside Pool (330-360 Berserker St, Frenchville), starting on October 5th and running for 9 weeks, with Term 1 dates to be announced Contact us or check our Facebook page for up-to-date pricing information.
New players are welcome to join throughout the season!

Primary Water Polo is designed for children who are in Years 2-7, although it may still be appropriate for slightly older and younger children. To participate, it is important that the child can comfortably touch the bottom of the pool and has basic swimming skills (e.g., can swim the width of the pool). If you are unsure of if your child is ready for the sport, we recommend that you come and observe or participate in a session and then seek the advice of the coaching staff.
